Wheel Horse Bourbon (Batch 4)

Sweet up front and a nice burn finish

Had never heard of this and don't know what it costs, but from a small taste thought it was decent. Middle of the road bourbon flavors, but has a hotter finish than you might expect for the proof. Probably work well as a mixer.

sugar and spice comes through immediately, molasses and some rye spice for sure, with a medium body. Towards the end of the taste, there’s a subtle presence of candied pecan.

Crisp, fresh, shows its youth but enjoyable. Light sugar, caramel nose. Green apple, cocoa, sugar and vanilla with peanut and caramel to add weight. Hay, wood and pepper finish. 2nd place in a blind test with Piggyback, Johnny Drum and Old Bardstown. 1st place in a blind test with Buffalo Trace, 1792, Green River, Blue Note and Early Times. So a solid replacement for Buffalo Trace.
