The third release in Whistlepig's Legends Series was made from barrels of high-rye whiskey selected by Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake drivers. Unusually, the barrels underwent wind tunnel trials at the team's wind tunnel in Switzerland before enduring varying levels of G-Forces at the Whistlepig Farm & Distillery in Vermont. Inspired by Zhou Guanyu — the first Chinese F1 driver — the whiskey was also finished in lychee and oolong tea barrels.

RyeRye produced in the US must be made of at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels (no age requirement). Elsewhere, it will be made according to the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is intriguing with the lychee fruit coming through (think cross between white grapes and ripe peaches). Next comes the tea notes which help to intensify the fruity notes while adding some delicate floral notes as well. The rye aromas are a minor character on the nose. Moving on to the taste, the whiskey is full bodied and lightly sweet. Barrel spices come through and the rye grain is present. However, the lychee and tea notes dominate the flavor never quite blending into one cohesive whiskey. "
