Wigle Organic Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey

Made from local organic rye, this whiskey made from a historic world famous recipe from southwestern PA. Spicy, full bodied with notes of black tea, cinnamon and cloves.

Full bodied, yet approachable rye. Classic notes of cherry, vanilla and spice.

Wigle knows Rye. This Rye is now Straight and they've been transitioning from small to large barrels. Their PA Rye (the one here) is very approachable with dark cherry notes. Their Deep Cut Rye and Single Barrel Straight Ryes are wonderful too and good for rye lovers.

Love at first sip. Floral nose you can get lost in. Rolls on smooth, then some alcohol, spice, oak, some vanilla, and an effervescent finish. This ain’t getting mixed.

PA distilled ryes have such a unique flavor profile and Wigle is no exception. There are some familiar notes to Dad’s Hat and New Liberty ryes here and that’s a good thing IMO. I’m getting light peppery black tea and cereal grains on the palate with a slightly spicy finish.

I think I’m liking this less as I drink more bourbon in general. Tate’s good up front. Finish is kinda blah

Pear in the nose. Floral. Light.

Floral, spicy, dried fruits, wildflower honey, long lasting on the palate.
