Reviewed December 28, 2023Method: neat Nose: apple, cinnamon and steak seasoning. With a bit more seeking, I noticed vanilla and brown sugar. The oak is subtle. Taste: warming proof and oak. Apple with vanilla. The oak lingers and it has a high-middle viscosity. Finish: Lingering oak and spice with a Kentuky hug.54.0 USD per BottleLiquor World -

Reviewed September 16, 2023 (edited March 19, 2024)I'm out tonight, and i just had Lost Empire Bourbon, and it was ok. But this stuff.... Like night and day. Very good! Hit with a nice dose of licorice on the first sip. Slightly sweet with oak. Can't say it's, "complex", but it is definitely got a lot going on. Good! Worth a purchase — and when I do, I will add more of a review below... As promised! More notes on this juice. Today, I ran out to grab the last bottle on the shelf at my newest go-to Bourbon source. Color - Copper/amber. Nose - Molasses, slight alcohol, Palate - (Drank with an ice cube) Initial burn and chest hug going down; slightly creamy mouth feel; sweet as you'd expect from a wheater, but also pretty spicy. Lots of oak with each subsequent sip. I'm not getting the licorice that I was hit with last night. A hint of apple on the back side. Finish - medium, slightly drying, more oak. This reminds me of other bourbons I've had, so I'm wondering if it will find its way into my regular rotation or get lost in the mix. Either way, this is very good, and I can recommend it for anyone who is considering it. I may try the high rye (Black label) once this bottle is killed.50.0 USD per BottleMission Wine & Spirits
