Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year

Wow, Super long on the finish. Grass, anise, charcoal, candy cane, leather and a bit of cinnamon. Reminds me of chewing on a fresh piece of Timothy when baling hay as a kid. A very good whiskey but the anise is a little strong for me.

Complex balance of flavors. Not perfectly complimentary, but still nice. Orange dreamsicle, bubblegum, and minty basil. A little hot when neat, but water seems to mute the sweetness and bring out the herbal notes - not my preference. Great viscosity and texture.

Spicy nose. Nice dark cherry taste

Complex and delicious rye. Good burn. What I think of when I think of "rye".
