Willett Family Estate Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon 6 Year

Barrel 198, 129.4 proof. Complex for a 6 year old bourbon. Surprisingly rye forward. Not interesting enough to justify the price or hype, but I'm definitely intrigued about the older expressions should I ever be fortunate enough to taste one.

I love the willett heat. This one is a little harsher than what I expected, but delicious none the less. The nose is full of caramel. The front end is very smooth and still caramel. Then once the heat kicks in, there is lots of leather and coffee. Great lingering warmth.

God damn. Tons of vanilla on the nose with cherries. Feels fantastic on the palate. So much oak, allspice, caramel on the palate. Extremely smooth finish, where the pleasant maple syrup notes shine

Phenomenal. Strong vanilla nose. Oaky up front, a sweet kick on the back? Honestly having trouble deciphering. It’s a whirlwind of joy. Bern’s Select Barrell
