Winchester Double Oak Bourbon

The harsh stringency of the nose worried me, but this ended up being kind of OK, especially after if had a minute to open up. I could see this as a passable mixer. There’s not a ton going on here, but the sherry casks give it a little taste profile and the mouthfeel isn’t too bad.

Tried neat. On the nares it’s hot with fruity alcohol like cherries soaked in alcohol and hints of oak. On the palate it’s hot on the palate with notes of wood and…. That’s all. I think this will be a great mixer for bourbon mules. Won’t be a sipper for me 🤷‍♀️.
