This one disappointed. I got nothing but peat and charred wood. Thin up front.

A pleaser for a standard offering. Good mouthful with a satisfying tingle, the flavor profile is bright and citrusy.

I had a hard time putting my finger on this one. It’s worth trying because it’s different. Even the reddish color sets it apart. Make no mistake: You’re getting red wine on the nose and the tongue. As you’d expect, there’s an earthy, red fruity quality to it. A sticky sweetness lingers after the finish.

The port finish dominates the palate. Not thin by any means, the full-bodiedness suggests there’s more to unlock, but it never gets there.

An easy drinker for a smoky Scotch. Not overwhelming with the smoke, the sweetness is backed up by just a touch of spice.

Definitely better than the 12. Takes a second, but you get a rush of fruit on the palate. Finish comes in a little bitter.

This is tasty. Invitingly complex with spices and fruits, the port comes through on the finish for a sweet ending.

A fairly standard rye, though well made. Finish turns sweet, candy-ish.

I’m not saying rye finished in a gin barrel cannot work, but this makes me skeptical.
