“Spruced up Woodford” is a good description. Smooth and flavorful. The combination of price point and quality will make this a staple of my collection. Plus, my wife likes it so we will probably always keep a bottle on hand.
Neat from Glencairn. Pours a beautiful amber.
Nose: Pancakes and syrup served on a piece of oak. I could smell this all day.
Taste: Hits with sweet burnt sugar and tons of oak. Mellows into a nice char that lingers.
Finish: Long char that mellows into subtle sweetness with a warm kiss.
I’m a bourbon and whiskey newbie and I really like this.
Was hoping this would change my personal view on Woodford, but alas, it has not. I understand it is the same mash bill, but I was hoping the second aging would improve the outcome. Oh well, at least it can be a fancy bottle to serve guests
