ah i love calvados. comparing it to lairds american 7.5 year old american apple brandy, i find it MUCH more obviously apple, with sweet red apple and dark cider and a fruity sweetness. i think i find a oak spice in the finish too. lovely. the specific apple varietals unique to calvados farmers, plus the double distillation, really make this shine. always a treat.
