I wanted to try this for many months. Finally got a bottle and decided to open the New Year with something great. This whisky didn't disappoint. The nose is complex, with fruit notes and light smoke, ashes, salted meat (like beef jerky). When I nose the glass from the edge, I get mostly fruit flavors and spices, but I put my nose in the center of the glass, the smoke, ash, meat, vanilla comes through. The palate shows sherry flavors with slight smoke lingering from the back. Not much salt for me here and the finish is silky, lasting smoke, but not overwhelming. This is an exceptional drink, glad that I finally got mine!

@DigitalArc it was like beef jerky hidden in the back, but not salty like kilchoman or talisker. The sweetness and the smoothness were surprising to me. It reminds me a little of Lagavulin 16 on how they combined sweetness and smokiness. Classic.
@locorican68 Envious. Can't find the meat! Some brine was encountered as I worked my way through the bottle.
