Four Roses limited edition 2020 is dark amber in the glass and has the thick mouth feel you expect in a barrel proof. Not a lot going on with the nose, but I do get a hint of spun sugar mixed with the typical ethanol scents. On the palate the sweetness shines through in the form of carmel apples and toffee. Vanilla is there with maybe just a hint of cinnamon. There's a pleasant fruitiness from start to finish. There's a bit of rye spice, but it's subtle and not overpowering. The proof gives it some warmth, but it's just right without any alcohol fire. The finish is long with just the smallest touch of leather and a nice sweet aftertaste. No bitterness with this bourbon. This is the best bourbon I've tasted from Four Roses, and an instant favorite.
