The nose is beautifully rich with notes of corn and vanilla from the oak casks. It features floral notes and a light spice as well. There is a distinctly rum-like scent as well. On the tongue, the dram features a honeyed sweetness with light woody notes from the casks. It has a rich, creamy mouthfeel that transitions into a spicy burn in the mouth. The aftertaste has distinct notes from the cask, as well as a breath of vanilla. It finishes with a warm glow in the chest. An excellent drink, best enjoyed neat or with a drop or two of water to open up the flavor profile.
