Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Retaste: Bottle at 7/8th, open 2 years.
Cinnamon note I tasted initially has really mellowed, or my palate has evolved, or both. I get more of a cinnamon toast crunch note on the nose plus gingerbread and some orange marmalade. Cinnamon is still there on the palate, caramel is more prominent now, there’s also vanilla and gingerbread. A tiny bit of heat on the finish which is medium length with toasty vanilla and caramel.

@Scott_E I’ve actually not bought any whiskey in months. Instead, did buy amaro twice
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington @PBMichiganWolverine still have a bunch of open bottles 3+ years or older. Definitely buying faster than I can drink. Plus the accumulated samples, which I greatly appreciate. Finding good quality time for an hour or so to get tasting notes is most challenging for me.
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington totally agree —prior to the pandemic, can easily share with friends. Now it’s just you, Netflix, and Jimbo Beam...
@PBMichiganWolverine @Ctrexman there must be a tipping point - once too many bottles are open then none seem to ever empty without some serious effort. It was easier prior to 2020 when bottle sharing parties were still a thing. Counting down the days until spring when fire pits and bottles come back out and life turns toward normal!
This is a somewhat forgettable pour. I’ve had this several times and I can’t recall any tasting notes...on another note, I’m starting to see single barrel store picks of this one.
@Ctrexman meanwhile...I’ve never killed a bottle. Can’t ever finish one
@Ctrexman haha, I’ve been on a bit of an obsessive compulsive buying binge over the last couple years.
I think I must be quite the lush........my bottles are mostly killed within weeks not months unless something special
@ctbeck11 it’s a combo of the two.
Wow, 2 years at 7/8 full. Really letting that one breathe. I’m guessing you either have a massive collection or stuck it in the back of the cabinet and forgot it existed.
