Balvenie Portwood 21 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 17, 2024 (edited December 18, 2024)At first a little underwhelming. With time in the glass it grew on me. Nose is light, refined and subtle with red fruits, red berries, butterscotch, butter cookies, raisins, baking spices, oak notes. Same notes follow on the palate, which is a bit grungy, and medium length finish. Forget what @Stephanie_Moreno says about sharing, I’m going to drink this all myself!214.0 USD per Bottle -

Corralejo 99,000 Horas Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Guanajuato, Mexico
Reviewed November 19, 2024 (edited November 30, 2024)Freshly opened bottle. Smells of agave, vanilla, and light baking spices on the nose. Pleasant entry on the palate, It’s rounded with imitation vanilla, caramel, agave and black pepper. Finishes short and pleasant for the most part with baking spices and caramel, the imitation vanilla kicks in towards the end and somewhat detracts from it. -
Bisquit & Dubouché VSOP Cognac

Reviewed November 14, 2024 (edited November 19, 2024)I’m about a quarter into this bottle. This is a really nice cognac. Semisweet and mellow with marzipan, prunes, brown sugar, maple, caramel, chocolate, sweet spices, cinnamon, clove and candied nuts. Long spicy finish. A lot of really great notes. I’m still trying to unpack it all. -

RD One Bourbon Finished with Brazilian Amburana Wood
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 19, 2024 (edited November 18, 2024)Nose smells of pumpkin pie, heavy on the cinnamon, turning to all spice, a little play dough too. Palate entry is easy, a little viscous, a bit hot, it quickly turns to heavy cinnamon, there are some other baking spices as well, some uncooked pie dough and pumpkin seeds. Finish is long and spicy. The Amburana seems a little overdone here.
