This is okay, but not great. A far cry from the richness, complexity, and power of the 16 and the Distiller’s Edition, but it does carry typical Lagavulin characteristics. Very light straw color is indicative of the lightness in aroma and flavor.
The aroma is pretty light, not very concentrated. Along with some open smoke and peat, there’s saltiness and maritime aromas, a little tea, and some apples. Palate is also a little watery, but it has some herbs, nondescript fruits, and of course a noticeable amount of peat.
