The agave is overly muted by the aging. It sips nice but not really my thing. The pungent nose is not as pronounced on the palette. It doesn’t leave that oily residue we all love.

That’s really disappointing, especially given the price. This reads more like a bourbon review than tequila. I’ve had EAs older than this that still retain a nice agave backbone. It doesn’t specify, but I’m guessing they must have used first fill bourbon casks, or even a mixture that included some fresh oak, since the wood influence is so overpowering.
