Tastes much better as the bottle gets more air. Neck pour was rather bitter, even after time.
Classic Lagavulin notes here, though with more butterscotch, walnut and alcohol than the 16. Peat is more noticeable. A few drops of water open up to reveal citrus on the palate — not nearly as much as the 8, but more than the 16.
Still prefer DE, then 16, then this, then the 8. When opening this one, give a few drops of water and a solid 15 mins.
