This is pretty fantastically made, but for some reason I always reach for something else. It's not bad at all, but I find myself preferring non-sherry Islay. I appreciate the high proof, but I find myself liking the An Oa because there was less alcohol impact, even with water.
Nose: Bacon, pepper, peat, brine, raisins
Palate: Smokey bacon, pepper, raisins, figs, chocolate, savory,
Finish: Long, slightly ashy with a bit of spice
Mouthfeel: Medium to oily, slightly drying, alcohol prickle
