An Islay, through and through. Nose is smoke with a touch of fruit on the end with a bit of sea salt. The taste is more of the great smoke/peat with lots of pepper. It's got a great, deep earthy taste to go along with those nose as well. Above all, this is an intensely flavored Scotch and I don't think it's something all would like. But for fans of big, full, peaty Scotches, this would be hard to beat. At 57% abv, it's got some bite in the finish but honestly, it's not too bad, owing to how well this Scotch is balanced. I'm not one to usually add water but this one can take it and opens up more of the pepper and sea salt. Overall, a big, bold examplar of Islay Scotch.
