Nose: typical though softened whiskey notes, lots of sweet juicy fruits, some wood. Palate: big rye spiciness hits immediately on the first sip but subsequent sips gave me much more of the port sweetness and fruitiness that was prevalent on the nose. Red fruits and nice spice balance. Enjoyable mouth feel. Finish: mostly I get more of the rye with just a touch of the port finish flavors. Not very long but it's pleasant and enjoyable. Overall, a very interesting spin on a rye with the port adding a lot of red fruitness and sweetness here. Maybe not something I'd consistently reach for but it's a good change and could be a nice step for someone not used to rye.

Nose: Really nice melon/cantaloupe sweetness with a touch of minerality. Very inviting. Palate: The notes from the nose come through here with more of that melon sweetness. First sip was a bit of a shock but only because I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Easy to sip and no burn or abrasiveness. Finish: That mineral note is most prevalent here with a surprisingly lengthy finish overall. Overall, very nice drink. I've never had shochu before but very much enjoy sakes and think anyone that enjoys sake would like this, especially if you're looking for something with a bit more punch. I just drank this alone but this would work wonders paired with fish. Definitely will be buying this again.

Nose: Light peat smokiness peaking through some apple sweetness, lightly cooked brown sugar, toasted nuts or grain maybe (?) Very inviting overall. Taste: More toasted barley, black pepper, a slight but enjoyable mint note. Very tasty and easy to drink. Finish: The mint is a bit more prevalent, the peat softly appears again, nice sweet grain finish. Overall: I don't think my notes do this justice but I really like this. It's got flavors with a bit more kick than I typically get from a Speyside, particularly this sort of mint note I keep picking up that is really enjoyable. A fantastic, easy to enjoy dram that I think most any Scotch fan would enjoy.

Nose: Heavy dark notes of molasses, wood, caramel, dark spices. This is pretty much an ideal nose for a rum for me. Tasting: caramel, toffee, vanilla, dark fruits, touches of mint Finish: Lots of wood, spices, medium length. 15 is a really good rum, especially for the price. There's a great mix of of spice, wood, and sweetness with a good amount of complexity that's perfect for sipping.50.0 USD per Bottle

ARDNAHOE Infinite Loch
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 17, 2025 (edited October 20, 2025)Nose: Nice expected peat/smoke and iodine saltiness. Very welcoming. Palate: candied lemon, ashen smoke, touches of pepper. Finish: more of the ashy bonfire, sea salt, reasonably long. Overall, this is definitely a young Scotch but still a very good one. This has all the Islay touches one would expect but with a really nice candied lemon/citrus that is the standout note for me. Very interesting from a young distiller and one that I will be very interested in seeing how they develop over the coming years.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: crisp pears, a touch of saltiness, vanilla maltiness. Light and inviting. Palate: pepper, light lemon, golden grain Finish: Oakiness, salt & pepper, more pear. Overall, this is very nice if not a wow. An excellent Scotch to keep handy this would be a great intro Scotch or an inoffensive bottle to keep around.

Nose: You get some of that floral note common in much of Japanese whisky but this also has a much bigger note of sweetness. I don't get any of the malty grain I got from the last whisky I tried (Nikka Coffey Malt). This is pretty punchy. Palate: You can get the higher proof here without being too hot or overwhelming. Good spiciness; some black pepper, cinnamon, some toffee or brown sugar sweetness. Again, good punchiness and the more I sip the more I enjoy. Finish: Lightly peaty/smoky, more spicy sweetness. Again, you can tell this is bottled at a higher than normal proof and the finish is decently long.65.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: Soft florals and prominent malt with a touch of lemony citrus. Simple, but inviting. Palate: More cereal grain type notes, light fruit sweetness, perhaps a touch of a white wine hiding in the background? Nothing too complex, but very pleasent to sip. Finish: Surprisingly sweet with an almost light caramel sweetness. Medium length. No real alcohol burn to speak of, just again a very nice, relatively simple, very easy drinking whisky. For the $60 I paid, this is very nice if you're looking for a good, easy sipping Japanese Whisky. Nothing super complex but the flavors you get are all very nice.60.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: lovely banana sweetness with hints of vanilla, touches of darker molasses sweetness as well. A bit of the oak in the background but rather subtle. No real alcohol burn despite the cask strength abv. Palate: Great mix of spices, cinnamon, nutmeg. The proof is pretty noticeable so I added a touch of water which really helped cut the burn without weakening any flavors. Great, substantial mouth feel. Really great mix of sweet and spice and great to sip once I cut the alcohol just a bit. Finish: Sweet and salty nuttiness (moreso sweet) mixed with oak woodiness. Very satisfying and makes you want to take another sip.100.0 USD per Bottle
