There is quite a lot of hype around this rum, so when my uncle offered to open this bottle I was excited to taste it. But it was a let down. On the nose it is a rum, but taste opens up with sweetness and stays like that for the whole time. My attempt to find more subtle tastes or at least a hint of the oak (12 years in ex bourbon my ass) was met with a lot of resistance from the sweetness as if it was trying to hide something from me... And to be honest what I was able to find was not all that pleasant. At it's price range I am not expecting miracles, however I don't think this bottle is worth the money, since for about the same price tag you can get yourself for instance 12yo Doorly's that actually delivers on its promises.
