Nose: cereal, spice, and sherry notes initially. Buttery on the second go. Almost pear-like, as if it was a Japanese whisky after a few more goes at it.
Palate: lots of pear and oily mouthfeel. Very briny on the mid palate but definitely a unique back palate.
Finish: very much like a thin Japanese whisky.
Overall: this is my first try from this brand and second ever Irish whisky. The only other one I’ve tried is Jameson 18 year and it was not even close to what this is like. If you’re a fan of Japanese whisky you’ll this one equally as much. For me, I do like this. Maybe I’ll find the 15 year one day!
