Barrel: Z5S4 Bottle: 136 Age: 8 years 9 months Proof: 111.04 BCBC Club “Berry Garcia” Nose: major fruit bomb. Very light on the nose too. Not super rich. Palate: oily and fruity. Some spice coming through but drinks nicely for 111 proof. Finish: short and spicy. Overall: pretty good. I like most barrell bourbon products. Worth $90? Not really but it’s definitely way better than others I’ve paid more for90.0 USD per Bottle

Hardin's Creek Jacob's Well
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 2, 2022 (edited October 19, 2022)Nose: sweet and buttery and thick. A typical good bourbon nose from Beam. Strong and nutty Palate: thick and rich. Nutty and the Kentucky hug is very much there. Finish: a little peppery finish much like a really good knob creek private pick. Lingers around like Booker’s does Overall: I’d compare this to a really good 15 year KC pick like they used to do. it’s 108 proof it drinks right at it. The color is insanely dark and you can tell it’s well-aged. From the initial pour after opening I’m loving this. The price is insanely high when you compare it to the old 15 year KC picks, but with a new label, extra stuff like leather strap and a can to put the bottle in, and a good story behind the label, and the infamous “limited release” tag…that’s what you’re paying for. Would I get multiple to drink? Just 2-3 extra bottles probably. It’s a great classic bourbon with a good story that’ll be brought out for special occasions but I don’t see this being an epic unicorn in a few years.150.0 USD per Bottle -
Little Book Chapter 1: The Easy
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 14, 2022 (edited November 9, 2024)Nose: might be the glass but I’m gettin some orangy smells. Palate: spicy up front. Real spicy. Kind of dry but still a hint of caramel comin through Finish: spice lingers the whole time. Classic Booker’s finish Overall: not bad at all. If I ever find this bottle (doubtful I know) I probably wouldn’t open it and just keep it for the Booker’s collection. Still super stoked about the price of the pour!!10.0 USD per Pour -
Dewar's 12 Year The Ancestor (Discontinued)
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed March 27, 2022 (edited April 1, 2022)Nose: grainy and spicy. Palate: thin and not a lot there Finish: short and spicy Overall: nothing too special. -
Nose: fruity and light. A little spice. Very makers mark-ish. Palate: light and spicy. Some mint initially too. A little hot for 90 proof. Finish: short and sweet. Kind of like the end of a stick of juicy fruit. Overall: not bad at all. Id be down to try the cask strength or eventually if they have a product with a decent age on it (12+ years) id buy!50.0 USD per Bottle

Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Amarone Casks (2021 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 10, 2022Nose: smells gooood. Very fruity and classic bourbon. Tons of honey too Palate: interesting. Really weird funky taste to it. Not a normal finished bourbon taste. Like a sour grapey flavor to it. Very rich like a finished bourbon typically is though. Finish: kinda short and left with just spice. Like really really short. Unimpressed Overall: not sure if I can get past that funk. Never had this flavor in a bourbon ever. Short finish too. Definitely not worth the price. Probably gonna be my first and last ever Yellowstone purchase130.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: bready and a little sweet. No bitter notes at all. Palate: a little smoke and a little sweet. Maybe some pear but it’s dull. Honestly a very bourbony scotch Finish: medium length. Sweetness lingers Overall: not bad but not amazing. There’s not much to it but it’s definitely not like any other scotch I’ve had. Definitely way more approachable for a bourbon drinker.65.0 USD per Bottle

Post covid… Nose: vanilla and butterscotch. Also candy corn which I actually hate just throwin it out there. Palate: immediate beam funk. More candy corn. Sweet but more of an artificial sweet. Finish: short, thin, more candy corn for me. Can’t get that out of my head Overall: I know it’s bottom shelf but compared to other really good ones: virgin bourbon, early times…it doesn’t quite hit the mark. Maybe after opening up it will change my mind.20.0 USD per Bottle
