Spicy, Rich and Sweet
The spirit smells of sweet agave. But, tastes of peppery spiciness; fruity sweetness (like cognac, but more citrus, less stone fruit); and the rich barrel tastes of oak and vanilla. The spirit is bright up front and finishes bitter.
I really enjoy the middle notes of this spirit. But I can see some people being thrown off by the up front spiciness or back end bitterness (that's me). I enjoy that this spirit is bright, no earthiness or dark notes to speak of. I don't really taste the agave at all though, so I'm not quite sure how to use this spirit, perhaps for its citrus properties. Overall I think this was worth trying, and is certainly worth sipping, but I'm not sure how often I'll be returning to it.
