I opened a new bottle and left the neck pour in a glencairn for about 30 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised in a good way. On the nose it’s very sweet smelling almost like a mix of vanilla cake and maple. On the pallet it has a bunch of classic bourbon notes with a typical Elijah Craig flavor profile in the background. It drinks much lower than 118 proof which I enjoy. For 59.99 it was a steal and it is worth picking up if you find one.
