This is a classic for me. It’s one of the whiskies that first got me interested in whisky.
There’s a subtle sweetness on the nose like the caramelized portion of a honey baked ham. This sweetness is hidden underneath a pleasant rubber note along with an earthy peat.
The palate starts off sweet like strawberries and cream. This evolves into rubber, iodine, and charcoal.
The finish is reminiscent of a campfire at the beach.
