Cachaça tasting with some buddies. My first experience with this beautiful liquor. Tried to take notes of my impressions as I was sampling.
Warm, fresh, semisweet, fruity (melon?), spicy and woody, mild finish.

@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington turns out my Brazilian friend really didn’t know what he was talking about. There’s a really good explanation here: https://bevvy.co/articles/rhum-agricole-vs-cachaca-clearing-canefusion/15123 Basic highlights: Cachaça is made from cane juice, must be made in the designated region, and can only be distilled once.
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington according to my Brazilian friend who was tasting with us, Cachaça is made from sugar cane and distilled like vodka. Have not done any research to confirm that.
Is this the Brazilian equivalent of rum?
