Russell's Reserve 13 Year Bourbon (2021 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

NOSE: Leathery dried dark fruit, oak, cocoa, hazelnuts, cinnamon, caramel icing, vanilla taffy and a touch of citrus.
Warm and inviting aroma that's nuanced and complex with a balanced line between sweet and rustic. It's something I want to just keep smelling.
PALATE: Oak, spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, anise, cocoa, hazelnuts, caramel and vanilla with hints of banana and citrus.
This is a little different compared to what we've come to expect from Wild Turkey. The Russell's Reserve 13 Years is, oddly, a tad fruity but in a way that's complimentary to the darker spicer notes.
FINISH: Med-long -> Oak, spice, dark sweets and leather draw out to a dusty cocoa and creamsicle note.

hazelnuts! that is EXACTLY what I had described as a nuttiness in my review. when you said hazelnut all of the bells and buzzers went off in my head🤣🤣
@LiquorLonghorn It depends on how many barrels/bottles they are putting out for this inaugural release. I don’t think Wild Turkey has released that information yet, if they even will. I don’t expect this to have nearly the amount of bottles that the 10 year and single barrel gets every year but from what I’ve read this might hopefully be easier to find than some of the other more famous hard to find bottles from other well known distilleries. While this is a limited release per Wild Turkey’s press release, I’ve read at a couple of other bourbon news/blog sites that this will be an annual release. And that Wild Turkey and the Russells have no shortage of aging barrels which is what inspired them to make the 13 year a new regular edition to their portfolio. It only released in June and from what I can see, it’s been a slow roll out and not a lot of places at websites and states have gotten it quite yet. Good luck to all on your searches.
I have no expectation of finding this on shelves but it sounds enticing and unique.
