N: High rye mash bill, but I still get plenty of corn on the nose - fresh cut off the cob, still juicy. Baking spice, citrus cleaning supplies, oak. Toffee, caramel, vanilla. Maybe some green rye grain. Sometimes gives off a dusty, stale cereal note. Ethanol is there, but feels reasonably restrained.
P: Malt sweet with caramel and vanilla first, then the rye starts to show with mint and dried rye bread following. Some baking spice. Doesn't really go very deep though. Finish has a lot of wood - oak flavor, bitter tannin, and baking spice/cinnamon heat. The malt character lingers leaving plenty of sweet to balance the wood, and also vanilla hedged with maybe the faintest chocolate note.
Don't feel like I have much to say about this one. It's somewhere between meh and okay. It doesn't particularly offend, but doesn't wow anywhere either. A bit over priced in the $25 range - there are plenty of better options there and below. Pass on this in the future for me.

@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington I’ve yet to see any Benchmark offerings other than the standard bottom shelfer here. I’ll definitely keep an eye out. I’m also intrigued by the BH Toast.
@BDanner I can’t recall if you’ve had many of the Benchmark offerings but I just got my hands on their full proof and it struck me as being similar to OGD114 and a good 10 proof higher and $5 less. Also ashamed to admit that the Basil Hayden Toast sounds pretty decent.
I'll second @Ctrexman on the OGD114. I am not a fan of the OGDBIB, but the OGD114 is one of my favorites. Although OGD, OGDBIB, OGD114, and Basil Hayden all share the same mash bill, the Basil Hayden and the OGD114 go in the barrel at a lower proof point than the other two and I think this (as well as barrel placement/selection) is what makes the difference for me. The 114 is my go-to Old Fashioned whiskey.
I have not. Never seen it around either. I'll probably grab one if I ever do see it.
Have you had the ODG114. Its pretty amazing for the $$
