This is a great intro to the tequila world and was my first non Cuervo, post college tasting. I’ve learned a lot about tequila since then, including that typical Cuervo isn’t tequila so please if someone tells you they drink tequila don’t associate them with that nonsense. This offering is sweet Carmel, vanilla like most Anejo (aged longer than this Reposado) tequilas. That flavor comes from brief aging and “additives” that make it similar to a bourbon (if you’re using this app you are most certainly familiar with). While I tend to prefer additive free tequilas these days I still proudly feature this in my collection and use it as a gateway drug for my whiskey and bourbon friends.

"intro into tequila"..... What comes next after introducing someone into tequila with the upper echelon of what the spirit can offer? A $250 bottle of tequila? I'd say start a little lower and work your way up as an "intro into tequila". That's like saying "hey try this WLW and you'll love whiskey" and then the poor bastard tries to find a bottle and gets stuck buying Maker's Mark. LOL
