Rendezvous Rye is one of my favorite whiskies, both in the regular version and the Midwinter finish. So I was excited to have the opportunity to acquire samples of a couple of the special store finishes they sometimes release. First up is the Boulevardier finish, which spent an extra 18 months soaking in the wood they use to produce their Barreled Boulevardier cocktail. The effect of this is to overlay a note of plums to the beautiful rich caramel flavors, rounded off with a long creamy finish. Quite delicious. If only these bottles still existed.
