So this is one of the few reviews where I do not agree with the distiller review at all. On the nose it's sweet and oaky. On the palate it's smooth with vanilla and a hint of barrel spice. The finish is short and fleeting. Overall I think it suffers from being 82 proof. Distiller rating this at 94/100 is laughable. It's definitely worth it's $25 price point, but nothing to write home about.

@Herr_WHIM Distiller should add a “trending” metric. The fairly static score tends to reward whiskey that is declining in quality and punish whiskey that is executing a turnaround. I’ve read great stuff about the new Arran 10 year, but the expert score is brutal at 79.
@angstrom that's fair. I had heard good things about IW Harper in the past but after drinking this new bottle I don't believe I'll buy anymore.
This is an average bourbon. Prices have been dropping and availability has been increasing. No way this version is the same blend as 6 years ago. My guess is all the awesome, old barrels are long gone.
