Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Wheated Bourbon (2024 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 4, 2024 (edited August 16, 2024)On the nose, there's heavy ethanol paired with a sweetness. After a few sniffs, I get a slight hint of candied cherry amidst some must and grain. On the palate, it has a thin mouthfeel, with building ethanol. I get a dry, earthy taste, with a hint of malty grain. The finish is basically just a building burn, not much lingering flavor that I can put my finger on. All in all, I wouldn't buy again at this price point. Yet another Heaven Hill product that is propped up by hype launched at an msrp well above it's value.100.0 USD per Bottle -
On the nose, it's wonderful, it smells like a chocolate covered liquor cherry with some added kick. On the palate, it's smooth with a nice balance of oak and heat. I think the oak muddles the cherry and chocolate from the nose a bit, but it is still there. The finish is nice and warming, not too harsh.

Blood Oath Bourbon Pact No. 8
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 19, 2023 (edited November 21, 2023)The nose is interesting, almost a granny smith apple note with ethanol and earthy grains. The palate is smooth sweet and balanced. There's a caramelized sugar sweetness as well as a smooth vanilla mouth coat leading to a slow building, but not overpowering finish. Not bad at all. -
Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye (2023 Release)
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 16, 2023 (edited December 6, 2023)On the nose there's cinnamon, clove, pepper, and oak. The palate is rich, with subtle cinnamon, toasted sugar, and sweet molasses. The finish is smooth and sweet, I almost can't tell this is a rye and it drinks like it's 90 proof. I've never been a huge michters fan, but this one is great!94.0 USD per Bottle -
Peerless Double Oak Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 14, 2023 (edited August 7, 2024)The nose is rich with caramel, brown sugar, and barrel spices. The palate is just as rich as the nose, it's mouth coating vanilla, sugar and molasses. The ethanol is subtle, but there in a very balanced way. The finish is long and enjoyable with the right amount of spice and lasting flavor. Love this pour!135.0 USD per BottleKentucky Peerless Distilling Co -
Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 14, 2023 (edited December 11, 2023)On the nose it's like walking through the rickhouse and getting a nose full of the angel's share. Sweet and oaky with baking spices. On the palate the 4 gains come through and you get a little taste of them all. Initially sweet corn giving way to wheat and finally rye spiciness. On the finish you start to really taste the second barrel coming through along with a nice Kentucky hug. I'm a big fan of this bottle, definitely worth it. -
Reading the reviews on this I passed on it until I did the tour at Willett and got to try it, and I found it to be quite enjoyable. On the nose it's super sweet, like toasted sugar with a hint of spearmint. On the palate there is a mixture of sweet brown sugar, allspice, and subtle oak that gets spicier and spicier as it finishes making for a long and enjoyable finish. For the $40 price point I think this is a home run for Willett.43.0 USD per BottleWillett Distillery
