Aroma -oak dominates the nose, cherries / dark fruit, subtle baking spices. Not overly complex but very nicely balanced. Really digging the nose.
Taste - first sip, buckle up buttercup! This come comes in screaming hot. All ethanol subtle oak and vanilla. 2nd sip now that the taste buds are hammered, getting a lot more oak and vanilla. Cherries and cinnamon on the backend and the cherries comes up again in the finish. That typical barnhouse funkiness is still there as seen with most OF offerings creating that unique flavor. Every few sips I pick up on a chocolate note and some smoke but it’s subtle.
Adding a couple drops of water might help if offering to someone who normally doesn’t drink bourbon.
Solid bourbon to keep on hand at all times.
1920 = dinner
1910= dessert
