1792 Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2026 (edited January 7, 2026)Aroma - lots of dark fruits and caramel coming through. Lots of vanilla cake notes … lightly charred marshmallow… Light notes of baking spices. Really nice balance here. Solid. Taste - oak, hints of butterscotch and sometimes even slight marshmallow. As it opens, the rye profile kicks in… baking spices, winter green gum. Overall - For the proof it has a really nice flavor profile and the finish is above average. In fact I think it drinks above its proof too which makes it a bit more intriguing for me. This is a really nice bottle and I’d be happy to pull the trigger on it again at the $50 price point. -
Chattanooga Whiskey Founder's 13th Anniversary Blend
American Blended Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2026Aroma - Really nice blend of oak and caramel with rye notes some vanilla as well. Taste - Follows the nose. There’s a nuttiness that pops up from time to time along with a dark berry note. Overall - It’s really really good. It’s the usual suspects (vanilla, caramel, oak) very slight hint of rye. Mouthfeel is definitely above average for 100 proof. Sticks to the palate and almost syrupy. The finish is the best part. At 100 proof… the finish is long, with sweet notes of caramel and vanilla. It’s a sweet whiskey and it is just really freaking good. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B525
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2026 (edited February 25, 2026)This release goes back to its traditional ECBP roots which is really nice. Nowhere near the level of legendary C923 so don’t be fooled. For the price.. this one is good but I’m starting to have a harder time pulling the trigger on these releases. I hate to say it, but ever since they dropped the 12 year age statement… quality has really gone down and these have lost its luster. -
Aroma - slighly oaky. Lots of youthful tones here. Quite a bit of herbal tea notes as well. Touch of cinnamon. Taste - where’s the flavor?! What the hell??? I feel the alcohol heat on my gums but there is absolutely nothing to this whiskey. Overall - not sure I’ve ever experienced this before. But there is nothing to this palate other than a slight alcohol burn. There is nothing from the beginning, nothing mid palate or in the finish. It is a head scratcher.. the maple isn’t even present.

New Riff 4 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2026 (edited April 2, 2026)Distilled - September 2020 Type - ISC Cooper’s Reserve HT #1 Char Building - Warehouse C Location - Floor 2 Row 3 Tier 1 Barrel No - 29967 Aroma - Variety of spices really come through on the nose (cinnamon, slight nutmeg and allspice, coriander, clove). Hints of red apple and caramel. Slight toasted marshmallow as well. Very unique, above average complexity for sure. Taste - Complexity doesn’t quite follow the nose. More caramel and vanilla sweetness comes through here than in the nose. The spices are present as well in the mid palate and in the start finish which creates a really nice experience. Then the alcohol hits really hard which eliminates the sweet caramel and vanilla notes. Even after a couple minutes the alcohol presence continues. Overall - The really is a great single barrel for the price. There is a heavy heat/alcohol profile on the finish which detracts from the sweetness that was experienced at the front and mid palate that I wish was more subtle. But overall, this is a really great bottle and one that I plan on purchasing again at the local store. -
RD One Bourbon Finished with Brazilian Amburana Wood
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2026Aroma - apples, cinnamon, vanilla, slight toasted marshmallow. Reminds me of “Fall” in a glass. Very spicy yet there is a ton of sweetness coming through as well. Taste - Cinnamon toast crunch with the milk. Theres a lot of heat coming through as well that really dominates the finish. Overall - This is unique. Great change of palate beverage. But I don’t like sipping on more than just 1 glass. It loses its appeal fast. The first glass, sitting around a fire as the weather turns a bit cooler, it is nice and inviting. Bit once I got into the second pour, I realized that I wasn’t enjoying it as much. The alcohol felt like it was coming through a bit harsh. Worth a purchase? Yes - if you like to have something completely different and show how crazy whiskey can be to your guests. But this is a heavy hitter on the spice profile so if you are looking for a more traditional whiskey then it would be a hard pass. -
Aroma - slightly burnt marshmallows, green apples, banana, and caramel... very light hint of a dried raisin as well … just awesome. Taste- tons of that marshmallow and light banana JD profile. Getting a slight hint of butterscotch, brown sugar, chocolate, and raisins and berries that seem to make quick flashes across the palate. This sounds amazing… but the finish is a let down in my honest opinion. It’s just a bit harsh and abrasive.. slightly smokey. I have come back to this bottle over several weeks and the finish is just rough every time. It drinks closer to 110-115 proof and there is a hug and burn that I’m getting every time I take a sip. I actually had a pour of another whisky proofed at 118 with less of an age statement and it didnt’ hit as hard as this did. Overall - it’s very good but I would NOT pay more than $80 for this offering (or MSRP)… It is honestly not that much better (if at all) than OF 1910 and WF Double Oaked or even Sagamore Double Oak.

Aroma- this one isn’t as complex as past releases. That white grape profile is very evident and I seem to always get a blueberry and maple note on these FN releases which I love. There is also a strawberry note in there mixed with toffee / caramel. Oaky presence is really nice though. Zero presence of that ABV Taste - lots of white wine notes coming through creates a slightly drying experience on the finish. But this one pretty much follows the nose. Overall - this one might be my least favorite release (that I have able to try) from FN but this is still exceptional. Like all their releases, they drink well below its proofs, full of flavor and well worth the price of admission.

Aroma - brown sugar, cherries, vanilla beans and caramel. Like all Sagamore Rye offerings (at least the ones that I have had).. Smells like a bourbon lovers rye. Its balance is tremendous. Rye is more bready than it is spicy. Taste - Damn. That follows the nose, but there is this amazing rye finish that is just an absolutely bomb of flavor. Overall - wish I had a back up bottle because this is tremendous. 4.8/5
