It has to be one of the darkest scotches I have tried.
The initial nose was very light with just a hint of sherry coming through. After setting for 10min I get a nice chocolate aroma.
On the palate I get the sherry, chocolate along with malt a bit of oak and spice. There is a sweetness that I wasn’t expecting.
The finish is medium with chocolate, fruit and a very slight hint of oak.
Mouth feel is on the edge of creaminess but at least it’s not thin.
Overall it was a great purchase. You could pay $100 for it and it would still be a good purchase. Next taste I will bloom it with a drop of water which I almost never do.
That is a 2oz pour in the glass.
