I totally bought this for the marketing. It's got a nice-looking bottle and I love the name. I didn't have high expectations for the whiskey, although it seems some have been pleasantly surprised by this.
The nose is reminiscent of wet grass, something medicinal, green wood, and maybe apple. The palate has more sweetness than expected given the nose, and some herbal rye notes come through, but the youth of this 2-year old rye stands out. I'd really like to try this at 4 or 6 years old, as it seems too green now. Great marketing though, so I hope the whiskey catches up.

@Ctrexman & @PBMichiganWolverine Small scale of production is one of the issues that keeps prices high for many of our startup distilleries, but The Gospel Distillers seem to have avoided this problem and bypassed the “small beginnings” phase. It is a large distillery by Australian standards, and they are producing a lot of spirit. One of the principles, Ben Bowles, is from South Carolina so maybe he has contacts who manage their US distribution and direct sales?
And for Aussie, it’s well priced too. Normally Aussies are quite expensive with their tariffs and taxes based on ABV @cascode can shed more light on this one
Im sure Cascode will fill us in on the real story with this one
