Vermouth — Italy

Heavy body, tawny appearance. Red licorice, pine, nutmeg, taffy, macerated fruits. Viscous texture with vanilla, orange peel, cooked red fruits, licorice, slight yeast and nutty note on the finish. Excellent stuff.
Thus far I would say this works well for rye-based Manhattans but I feel like it’s lacking in the spice department when used for a Negroni. Not half bad for sipping but will continue to explore the category before committing to another bottle.

@bigwhitemike I’m pretty sold on that being the next vermouth I go for
Carpano is assuredly good stuff, but I prefer the stellar Cocchi at 60-70% of the price (which also omits the vaniglia and IMO is a better match for gin and citrus botanicals in a Negroni, as you note).
I just tried Martini & Rossi for the first time, and discovered what decent vermouth outside a grocery store is supposed to taste like. I would be interested in your findings as well.
I love this stuff just neat over a couple of rocks.
This is by far my favorite so far. If you find something better, please let me know :)
