Longrow Red 13 Year Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon Matured
Single Malt — Cambeltown , Scotland

Nose: Closed off at first, a good 5 minutes later distinct Strawberry Starbusrt candy, which gives way to cherries, sweet peat, lemon and baking spices.
Palate: Rich, refined and oily, baking spices, red fruits, a little black pepper, sweet peat and dark chocolate.
Finish: Medium length with moderate spice, black pepper, peat and chocolate.
Based on the samples I have to say, that although rated the same, I would choose the 10 year Red Refill Malbec over this. I liked the dirty funkiness of that better than the refined taste of this. Thanks to @ctbeck11 for the sample.

@jdriip Happy to do it. Sharing makes it much cheaper to try a bunch of new things.
@ctbeck11 yeah, I looked at the prices to get a bottle for myself, outrageous. It was very generous on your part to share theses bottles.
@Anthology I hear you, but I've been thinking about this for a while and I don't want to feed into the process any more. For the same reason I'll be ignoring questions like "what is the best S********k alternative". Enough horses have already bolted - time to shut the stable door and keep what's left of the herd intact. @PBMichiganWolverine Reviews of outré spirits and unobtainable Australian whiskies and gin will continue as usual 😉
@cascode fortunately we still have you and your insights on non-Cambeltown whisky.
@cascode Sad is the day that this community and enthusiasts are deprived of your precise and insightful reviews/comments because of the deeds of F’ing flippers et al. One the one hand I’m totally aligned with the spirit of the approach, on the other it feels like we’re letting “them” win? #BetweenARock&AHardPlace
@cascode I've kind of felt that about leaving reviews for a while now. If I were being really strategic, I'd give all of the best stuff zero stars.
@ContemplativeFox I'm not going to review, discuss or comment on anything to do with this distillery for the forseeable future. The madness has been fuelled by our enthusiasm and we have fed the flippers and "collectors" exactly the information they wanted.
@ctbeck11 Yeah, some great stuff, but it's been discovered :(
Glad you enjoyed both of these. They’re really solid. Unfortunately, I’m starting to get priced out of the newer ones. They’re landing over $150 a bottle around here, and there’s not much value to be found at that level.
