I must have a low salt tolerance for whisky. Old Pulteney was even too much for me.
@Richard-ModernDrinking If you really want to test your salt tolerance, you could try Thy distillery edition casks 61 and 62. It tasted like a combination of sour patch kids and licking a salt lick. It was the saltiest whisky I have ever had.
@cascode I’ll have to try that Tempest. Need to test my salt tolerance!
@Richard-ModernDrinking I’ve had a couple that have bordered on too salty. Bowmore Tempest batch 6 was astonishingly briny - it tasted like salt had been added. I have a vague memory of a very salty Jura as well, from a long time ago. However on the whole, yes, briny and dry is good 👍
I’ve never had a whisky that’s too salty!
Wow. Extreme saltiness is not something I expect from Laphroaig. Too long in Warehouse 1, I guess.
I'd have thought that this score would have mean someone ended up in the hostpital.
@worldwhiskies95 wow…that bad?
