This 2022 Cairdeas bottling which is made for the Friends of Laphroaig just in time to celebrate Islay Fest. For the 2022 bottling the single malt has been fully matured in first-fill Maker's Mark Bourbon barrels. Additionally, the maturation occurred exclusively in Warehouse 1 which is right on the shoreline of the distillery.
Bottled at 104.4 proof. (SRP $100).

Tasting Notes
"The nose is a clean pathway to classic Islay character, with smoke that is both medicinal and briny, with additional notes of burning rosemary and golden orchard fruit. The palate takes on a more buttery richness, adding to stewed pear and quince flavors as well as savory herbs. The smoke element is akin to pipe tobacco with a briny aftertaste. More of that smoke and butteriness carries on into medium-long finish, with a pop of fruit flavor showing up at the end. "
