This was a nice surprise. It reminded me of the Glenmorangie 18. The nose is fruity, with honey, caramel, and citrus notes. The palate surprised me, as I was not expecting peat (it was written on the box, but I don't read the box until I try the whisky), but it's pleasant, as the sweet notes from the ex-bourbon cask mellow the whisky through the finish. There's something medicinal on the back end, but the finish welcomes a spicy touch.
