2.0 stars, Nice, but…. 750 ml bottle.
I waited to write this review, for several months, because this hurts too bad.
I love Heaven Hill. I love Elijah Craig. Henry McKenna always felt like EC’s older brother. Fantastic, well priced. I bought it twice before it won that big award. I loved it both times.
This one was a dud. Mellow and uninteresting. I guess that is the risk of a single barrel. Not better than EW BIB. Boring.
This was a big let down. I won the monthly lottery at my local store and got to buy this one for $36. I was so excited. Well, not anymore.

@BDanner My local store usually sells the lottery picks for rewards members at MSRP. Maybe I got lucky and they had not updated the inventory management software. At $60, that is too high a gamble.
@angstrom if you found it at $36, you got a steal. It’s MSRP has been around $60 for at least a couple years.
Like others have stated, I’ve had a bottle or two that bordered on best bourbon I’ve had and I’ve had others that were just meh. Back when it was $30, I didn’t mind the gamble, but now at its MSRP of $60, it’s a gamble I’m not willing to take.
I’ve had a few bottles, they greatly differ… some are eh… others are tasty

@Richard-Davenport I did finish the bottle, so it was not so bad! Maybe just like EW Black, just expected a lot more based on prior experience. At least I paid msrp.
Bummer about your experience. I snagged this when it could be commonly found for $36 (though I haven’t gotten to it yet). The artificial pricing/markups are getting crazy.
