Nose: licorice, burnt toast, dried tea
Palate: sage, figs, jam
Finish: allspice, nutmeg, pepper.
Overall: interesting take on the double oak. It definitely tames the rye but the rye also tames some of the barrel character. The char works so well with the rye spice. But it’s missing some of that sweet vanilla and caramel notes that I would typically expect
