The nose is light and fruity with pear, raisins and a vegetal presence. Steamed kale maybe? Once it sits in the glass for a while, a greener note of hay and tart apple show up. The longer it sits, the more floral the nose becomes. After the glass is almost gone and has sat for 20 minutes, a floral/powdery hand soap is faintly detected.
The initial palate is very ethanol forward but not overwhelming. It’s a bright ethanol not heavy at all. The mouth feel is a little thin but pleasant. Initially, I got roasted pear and dark raisins. As it sat in the glass, apples became prevalent and became more tart the longer it sat
The finish is a little like powdery sweet tarts and a very young and light unpeated scotch. There is a bit of white pepper on the finish as well.
Overall, very much worth the price I paid and a strong recommendation for any first timers wanting to dip their toes into drinking whisky neat!
