Commentary is subjective, but it should be substantial. Without further a due. The review( the only one).
The nose is a tad hot from the young grain whisky. But, after getting through the initial smell, you get soft notes. Which are butter, pound cake and bananas.
The taste is what one would describe as unrefined Macallans (perhaps due to the being part of the source.) Freshly made malt cereal with milk and topped with a few slices of bananas. But the bananas are green and the milk is thin. The American oak cask adds that bit of cinnamon spice and turmeric soft taste.
Overall, it is not the best whiskey with the best preparation. But it is a wonderful expression of Highland scotch. It is very drinkable. A fine expression of two worlds of whiskey to cater to American and Scots a like ( and between). Definitely purchase to enjoy anytime.
