I don't pick up the same wine or fruit tasting notes as the reviewer, but there is a definite sweetness, almost syrupy, in the mouth that I assume comes from the port wine. Oak is next in the taste lineup followed by vanilla. Could definitely see this working well in cocktails, though I enjoy it on its own. And for the price it's a good deal.
