Glendronach 12 Year Sherry Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 18, 2026 (edited February 3, 2026)Strong oaky aroma and the primary taste note. A touch of sweet and smoke. I don't pick up any sherry notes however. Nice to sip on but a bit disappointing for the price.90.95 CAD per Bottle -
Glen Grant 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 1, 2025 (edited February 3, 2026)I pick up the notes of oak, vanilla, and fruit. It's a "light" whiskey, a bit sweet, not too overpowering or full in the mouth. Enjoyable neat or with just a touch of water.83.5 CAD per Bottle -
Given the strength (60% ABV) you really need to add some water both to soften the bite and expand the taste profile. Very strong wood notes, spicy even with water, and a bit of sweetness (probably from the sherry casks) at the end. I don't pick up a lot of the fruit in the expert taste profile nor much vanilla.
