Nose: Heavy saffron and floral notes. Like chartreuse without the anise.
Palate: Quite sweet. Something, probably the saffron, stings your tongue immediately. Very pleasant.
Finish: Some ginger hops out on the way down. It retains its sweetness and tingling in the back if your throat. A slight chocolate note popped out.
Overall, this is an excellent liqueur. Beautiful in a cocktail, or even by itself after a large meal. Has all the best qualities of a digestif like Jagermeister or Chartruese without the anise notes that can sometimes be bracing.
